Gokwe Man Slain in Revenge Attack Over Cattle Fine Police Launch Manhunt

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched a manhunt for four suspects wanted in connection with a brutal murder that occurred in Gokwe on 25 October 2025.

Blessed Gwinya, Loyal Mpofu, Wuzu Moyo, and Munashe Makore are being sought following the fatal attack on Nelson Silemba (47), who was allegedly assaulted with machetes, axes, and knives in Fandwana Village.

In a statement shared on their official Twitter account, the ZRP said the attack was motivated by a dispute linked to a previous ruling at the local chief’s court.

The suspects had reportedly been convicted and fined two cattle over an earlier assault case in which one of them allegedly cut Silemba’s finger.

They are believed to have blamed the victim for their punishment and retaliated violently.

The suspects fled the scene immediately after the attack and have not been located since.

Police have intensified efforts to track them down and are appealing to members of the public to report any information that may assist in their arrest.

Authorities have assured that all tips will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Investigations into the murder are ongoing, and law enforcement has increased patrols in Gokwe and surrounding areas.

Community members are being urged to cooperate with police and provide any leads that could help bring the suspects to justice.
