Mutare Man Arrested for Growing Mbanje Without License

Police in Mutare have arrested Tendai Samuel Mutyadziya (37) of Village 8A, Zimunya, for allegedly cultivating cannabis without a licence.

ZRP confirmed that officers recovered 139 plants during a search at the suspect’s homestead.

“Additional dried plants were also found in one of the huts,” the statement read.

Police said Mutyadziya will appear in court soon to answer charges under the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Nyazura Woman Arrested for Concealment of Birth – Police in Nyazura have arrested a 34-year-old woman, Maria Munetsi Zhuwaki, in connection with a case of concealment of birth.

According to a police statement, Zhuwaki allegedly gave birth to a stillborn baby boy on November 5, 2025, and failed to report the matter to the authorities as required by law.

Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest, saying investigations are in progress.

“The public is reminded that any birth, whether live or still, must be formally reported,” he said.
