NetOne WhatsApp Bundles No Longer Support WhatsApp Calls

Many NetOne users are now complaining that their WhatsApp bundles no longer work for WhatsApp calls. This is true. About two weeks ago, NetOne changed its WhatsApp bundles and formally shared the update.

With this new update, NetOne has joined Econet in stopping WhatsApp voice and video calls on its popular WhatsApp bundles. This change has upset many people in Zimbabwe who used these bundles to make cheap WhatsApp calls. For a long time, NetOne was the only sensible option for people who could not make calls using Econet WhatsApp bundles. Now, that advantage is gone.

According to NetOne, only a few USD bundles are can now do WhatsApp calls. These are said to give full WhatsApp access, including text, file sharing, and calls:

  • Medium Bundle (7 Days): US$2.50 for 480 MB
  • Medium Bundle (30 Days): US$4.00 for 500 MB
  • Premium Bundle (30 Days): US$5.00 for 1 GB

However, a few users say that even these bundles are not working for WhatsApp voice or video calls anymore.

The following Netone WhatsApp bundles are restricted and do not support WhatsApp calls. They only allow sending and receiving text messages, pictures, videos, and documents:

USD Bundles (Dial *379#)

  • Low Bundle (2 Days): US$1.00 for 200 MB
  • Low Bundle (7 Days): US$1.50 for 250 MB

ZIG Bundles (Dial *171#)

  • Low Bundle (1 Day): ZIG 2.60 for 20 MB
  • Low Bundle (7 Days): ZIG 10.92 for 70 MB
  • Low Bundle (7 Days): ZIG 20.31 for 150 MB

This change marks the end of an era for NetOne users who depended on these bundles to make WhatsApp calls. NetOne has now joined Econet in restricting WhatsApp voice and video calling, leaving users to try Telecel’s WhatsApp bundles.
